Boing Ball
The red and white checkered ball that started it all, bouncing forever over a purple grid.
In 1984 a checkered ball bouncing across a gray screen convinced the world that the Amiga was magic. This is a faithful tribute rendered in real time. The ball is a true rotating sphere of red and white checks, spinning around its famously tilted axis, and the spin reverses every time it hits a wall exactly like the original. The purple grid room, the offset shadow and the eternal bounce that never loses height are all here, drawn in chunky low resolution pixels the way they looked on a 1084 monitor.
The buttons along the bottom switch between four takes on the legend. CLASSIC is the untouched original. NEON drops the ball into a dark grid room where it glows in magenta and cyan. WIRE strips it down to a green vector wireframe straight out of an old vector demo. MULTI fills the room with four balls of different sizes, and the smaller the ball the brighter its boing.
And of course it goes boing. A deep bounce on the floor, a lighter one off the walls, all synthesized live. Click anywhere to kick the nearest ball and hear it complain.
