Flow Field Silk

Thousands of particles drift through an invisible flow field and weave glowing threads of silk. Click to unravel the weave and let a new one form.

Over ten thousand particles ride an invisible current, and each one leaves a faint glowing thread behind it. On their own the threads are almost nothing, but together they weave into sheets of luminous silk that fold, swirl and collect around the eddies of the field. The current itself is a curl noise flow, which means it has no sources and no drains. Particles never pile up and never scatter, they only glide, which is exactly why the result feels like fabric instead of static. The palette wanders slowly around the color wheel, so the silk you watch now is not the silk you get a minute later. Click anywhere to reshuffle the field. The old weave dissolves and the particles immediately begin weaving a new one with a different structure and a new shade, and no two fields are ever the same.
